Advanced Clinical Massage for the Treatment of Acute and Chronic Pain

What to expect

In your first appointment we will spend some time together exploring the nature of the pain you are living with, how it came about and how it affects your everyday life. We will agree an outcome that you’d like to work towards and a realistic plan of how to achieve this.

Following an assessment of your movement you will receive a hands-on massage treatment, utilising a range of soft tissue techniques suited to your needs. As an Advanced Clinical Massage Therapist I am trained in a range of soft tissue and massage techniques such as Trigger Point work, Myofascial Release, Acupressure and Stretching. This style of remedial massage therapy combines soothing techniques designed to calm the nervous system, with targeted work to aid pain relief.

We will end with a re-assessment of your movement and some aftercare exercises for you to continue the work at home ahead of our next session.

My approach aims to take into account your physical and emotional needs, to reduce pain and improve range of movement within 1-6 clinical treatments. I will discuss with you a tailored treatment plan based on your presenting condition though there is never any pressure or obligation. My aim is to be fully transparent in the commitment that may be required to create change. If I feel this is beyond my scope of practice, I will always refer you on to an appropriate practitioner.
